Application deadline for Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is May 10, and $9.5 million is available for 18-20 awards. Public and domestic private nonprofit entities may apply. If the applicant is not a direct provider of substance abuse treatment services, the applicant must document a commitment from a substance abuse treatment provider to participate in the proposed project. The purpose of this funding is to enable communities to expand and strengthen their drug and alcohol treatment systems for homeless individuals with substance abuse disorders or with co-occurring substance abuse and mental disorders. Community and Migrant Health Centers and Health Care for the Homeless
funding is available through the Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The application deadline is May 15, and $200,000 to $450,000 will be available. Location eligibility is unrestricted.
The purpose of this funding is to fund the establishment of new service delivery sites for existing centers and/or new health centers in the Community and Migrant Health Centers and Health Care for the Homeless program.

Community Food Projects
Proposals for the Community Food Projects from U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are due May 18, and $2.4 million is available, though no grant may exceed $100,000 in a single year or more than $250,000 over three years. Nonprofits that have experience either in the area of community food work or job training are eligible.
The purpose of this funding is to help low-income persons meet their food and nutritional needs, increase community self-reliance, and promote involvement in local food and nutrition issues. For more information, contact:

Supportive Housing For People With Disabilities
Proposal deadline for Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Supportive Housing For People With Disabilities funding is May 25. $121.5 million is available, and nonprofit organizations are eligible.
