Age, Gender & Race/Ethnicity

In order to facilitate analysis, the individuals that responded to the survey were grouped in 7 age groups. These groups are: 9 – 17, 18 – 20, 21 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 – 89 years old.

Race/ethnicity is a mixed variable, that classifies the respondents as White, Black (races) and as Asian, Hispanic, American Indian (ethnicities). All individuals from Hispanic origin are classified as Hispanic despite their race. In the analysis process, just 3 groups were used (White, Black, Hispanic), to increase the number of individuals per group.
