Reasons of Homelessness
The survey, in order to obtain the reasons
of homelessness, asked the respondents to choose between 11 possible reasons.
The respondents were allowed to mark as many as applied. The reasons of homelessness
used in the survey were:
- Divorce
- Unemployment
- Unable
to pay rent/mortgage
- Argument
with family/friends
- Family
member or personal illness
- Alcohol/drug
abuse
- Physical
or mental disabilities
- Family
violence
- Prison/jail
- Welfare
time limits
- Other
Only the reasons 1-10 will be considered in this analysis,
since "other" corresponds to a variety of reasons.
