Intro to Continuum of Care Planning (half day)

What: This half day workshop will provide an overview of the Continuum of Care planning process and the specifics of how to build a goal-oriented, community-wide homeless coalition.

Topics will include:

• how a Continuum of Care planning process fits with other community planning such as the Consolidated Plan and the 10-Year Homeless Plan,
• Assessing the needs of homeless persons in the community including the chronically homeless,
• Conducting homeless counts and surveys,
• Developing goals and action plans based on identified needs and priorities,
• Distinction between a request for funding and the development of a Continuum of Care plan

Who: Intended for administrative staff or service providers that are new to the Continuum of Care planning process, as well as local government, CDBG and ESGP grantees, community advocates, housing developers, and anyone involved in implementing Continuum of Care programs but not directly involved in the planning process.
